The Ford Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid makes use of two different power sources to deliver a highly efficient drive no matter where your work day takes you and your passengers. In addition to the award-winning 1.0 litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine, the Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid also draws its power from an electric motor. Powered by a hybrid battery, the electric motor in the Ford Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid can take you up to 33 miles (55 kilometres) on electric power alone with just a single charge. If you make a lot of short trips, for example within a city, you may be able to carry out all or most of your work without ever needing to use any fuel. For days when you need to drive a greater distance, the petrol engine provides a range extender of up to 310 miles.

When the battery power depletes, you can recharge the hybrid battery in one of two ways. The Ford Tourneo Custom’s hybrid technology makes use of a smart self-charging system to recharge the battery through regenerative braking while you’re on the go. This means you won’t need to stop and recharge in order to switch back to electric throughout your journey. If you do decide to charge at one of the many AC network charging points, you can enjoy a fully charged battery in as little as three hours.

Thanks to the people carrier’s clever configuration, the compact 13.6 kWh battery pack takes up no extra space, meaning your passengers can still enjoy a spacious and comfortable ride. The battery pack sits hidden away beneath the floor of the Tourneo Custom, so you can enjoy all of its benefits without compromising on space for your passengers.

With the ability to carry up to nine passengers, safety is paramount on the Ford Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid. The Plug-In Hybrid version of the premium minibus comes with all the same advanced safety features and security systems as the diesel version, meaning you and your passengers can enjoy the ride with peace of mind. The people carrier has received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, which is the highest rating a vehicle can receive.
